natural beauty in the boundary waters

My friend Anna is naturally beautiful - and so were the flowers for her wedding. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of this wonderful wedding adventure in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota.  Really, the flowers get a bit over-looked when a wedding ceremony looks out over the dramatic beauty of a northern lake and forest; the best a florist can do is try to fit in:-)

The bouquets were made of mostly organic and locally grown flowers, berries and foliages; including:  viburnum berries, bronze nine-bark, green zinneas, swiss chard, kale, crab-apples, lotus pods, sage, cedar, thyme, rosemary, lemon-scented geranium, hens and chicks, ferns, curly willow, purple fountain grass, hanging-amaranthus, stonecrop sedum and hydrangeas.  And for my bird-loving friend, we included seed-heads from coneflowers, black-eyed susans and sunflowers; plus, of course, feathers from the bride’s collection.  beautiful. naturally.
